Flood Barriers to protect office building at Bandra, Mumbai

Aquastop Classic range of Flood Barriers were installed at this office building at Bandra, Mumbai. Over the years, run off water from the roads have created havoc and destruction to personal property, cars, electrical equipment, car lifts and car parking systems amounting to crores.

The business owners from Platinum Landmark reached out to us in a desperate manner seeking solutions to protect their property. Frontier Flood Barriers along with their regional channel partners, Shiv Safety, Mumbai were successful in installation Aquastop Classic range of flood barriers at the main entrance, Side entrance and car lift. Main entrance was in particular a tricky one as the whole façade was a long glass wall. Aquastop provided us with special side brackets which were fixed on to the floor and provided a good seal.

The side entrance was a very simple solution of classic barrier installed on permanent fixed side brackets. These side brackets help is providing a good seal.

For the car lift area, we requested the customer to change the flooring as it was tiled with large grooves and there would always be a change of water to sneak through the joints int eh tiles. We suggested to use granite slab in this area. Granite being a polished surface provides a good seal to the bottom gasket. On the sides we installed permanent side brackets. The Classic Flood Barrier was installed in conjunction to an Intermediate column. The barriers and column can be removed and stored away when not in use.

Frontier Flood Barriers provided the customer with total peace of mind solution. The customer well planned the order and installation several months prior to the monsoon season thereby removing all last minute hassles of delivery and peak monsoon rush of installations. The barriers were put to test and during monsoons proved to be extremely effective. During one such heavy rains in Mumbai the security guards quickly installed the barriers and took a video. Had the barriers not been in place this year too would have resulted in heavy losses to the customer flood waters would have entered the car lift doors and flooded up both the basements.
