A market leader in India since 1967, Asian Paints manufactures a wide range of decorative and industrial paints and has expanded its portfolio to include waterproofing, adhesives, services and a wide range of home décor products.
Asian Paints’ head office at Santacruz East, Mumbai, has historically been vulnerable to flooding from surrounding roads, with floodwater entering the basement areas during periods of heavy rainfall.
To strengthen flood preparedness and protect the office premises from recurring monsoon flooding, Asian Paints decided to install Frontier Flood Barriers at critical access points.
Our channel partner, Mr. Manan Shah and his team, worked closely with the Asian Paints engineering team to identify the vulnerable locations, finalise the appropriate barrier configuration and execute the complete installation. Frontier Flood Barriers were installed with great precision using laser markers.
Frontier Flood Barriers were installed at:
- The Main entrance
- Basement Entrance 1
- Basement Entrance 2
The installation provides Asian Paints with a practical and rapidly deployable flood protection system, helping restrict floodwater ingress while keeping the entrances fully accessible during normal operations.
The project reflects Asian Paints’ proactive approach towards protecting its infrastructure, assets and business operations from recurring urban flooding in Mumbai.
This was a unique and interesting installation for the two basement entrance as it involved covering the entrances in a “C” shape with the help of removable intermediate posts and the H-Frame flood barriers. This allows for complete removable of the barrier and intermediate posts when there is no threat of flood waters thereby have the complete entrance open.
