With Kolkata experiencing increasingly intense monsoon rainfall and instances of urban flooding, Ashok Hall Junior Girls’ School identified the need to strengthen flood protection at vulnerable areas of its campus. Floodwater entering school buildings can damage infrastructure, electrical systems, furniture and other assets, while also disrupting normal school operations.

To address this risk, our channel partner, Mr. Manan Shah, and his team installed Frontier Flood Barriers at multiple identified locations within the school campus. The barriers provide a practical flood defence system that can be deployed when heavy rainfall or flooding is anticipated, helping restrict floodwater from entering protected areas while keeping the openings unobstructed during normal use.

The school opted for Frontier Flood Barrier systems due to their Made in India manufacturing, ensuring that future technical support, service and spare parts are readily available without dependence on imports. Frontier Flood Barriers are manufactured using BIS-certified aluminium and the barrier system has been independently verified by IIT for hydrostatic pressure performance and water leakage.
